Scott Franklin founded Scott B. Franklin & Associates (now known as Franklin & Frankel) in 1987, building a respected practice in business, real estate, estate planning, and probate law in West Hartford. He began his legal career after being admitted to the Connecticut Bar in November 1982, working at a small firm in West Hartford and Avon before becoming a partner in 1986 and striking out on his own the following year. Scott is now retired from the practice of law.
Beyond the Practice
Scott has long been an active civic and community leader:
- Served 12 years on the West Hartford Zoning Board of Appeals
- Serves on the Board of Directors of a large Connecticut title insurance company
- Served as President of the West Hartford Youth Soccer Association
- Founded the West Hartford Little League
- Co-founded The Underground, a coffee house for high school students
- Co-founded the Miracle League of Connecticut, a recreational organization for children with special needs
- Chaired the West Hartford Pedestrian and Bicycle Commission
- Founded Bike West Hartford, Inc.
Personal Life
Scott lives in West Hartford with his wife, Mary. They have three grown sons, all of whom came through the West Hartford Public School system.
