I am an advisor and trusted counselor to individuals and businesses throughout Connecticut and Massachusetts as they make key decisions, both large and small. I represent businesses and assist business owners as they form, hire employees, negotiate contracts, bring on investors or new members, acquire other businesses or commercial property, design their succession plans, and get acquired. I represent individuals as they buy, sell and refinance residential real estate and as they make estate plans, draft wills and trusts, administer estates, and navigate probate.
Before joining Scott B. Franklin & Associates, I practiced law at two large firms in Boston, Massachusetts, where I represented companies ranging from start-ups to publicly-traded companies, often acting as outside general counsel and helping companies form, bring on investors and get acquired. I started my career as a litigator at an international firm and I use that experience to help clients avoid risk, reach consensus whenever possible, and achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.
Before law school, I worked in the administration of former Connecticut Governor Dannel P. Malloy developing policy and working with the legislature. During my time in the Governor’s office, I worked on economic development, higher education, workforce development, and transit policy, with an overall focus on and passion for strengthening our communities and helping families and businesses prosper.
I graduated from the University of Connecticut School of Law and the University of Connecticut, and have deep roots in the West Hartford and greater Hartford communities. I live in West Hartford with my wife and daughter.
